Privacy Policy

The short version: KnurlPad has no network access. It collects nothing, sends nothing, and stores nothing about you anywhere. There is no analytics, no account, and no tracking.

What the app collects

Nothing. KnurlPad does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. It does not connect to the internet at all — there are no servers, no analytics, and no telemetry of any kind.

About the Input Monitoring permission

macOS asks you to grant KnurlPad Input Monitoring access. The app uses it for exactly one purpose: to read the raw positions of your fingers on the trackpad so it can recognize a two-finger slide along an edge. This reading happens entirely on your Mac, in the moment, and is never recorded or sent anywhere.

About the Accessibility permission

KnurlPad also asks for Accessibility access. It uses this only to act on the gestures it recognizes — changing the system volume, sending a video player its arrow-key seek shortcuts, and scrolling the window under your cursor — and to suppress the competing native gesture while a control is active. It is not used to read your screen contents, log keystrokes, or capture any of your data.

Settings & preferences

Your preferences (which rails are on, sensitivity, haptic strength, detent sound, and so on) are stored locally on your Mac via the standard macOS preferences system. They never leave your device.

Purchases

KnurlPad is sold through Gumroad. When you buy it, your payment and contact details are handled by Gumroad under their own privacy policy — the app itself never sees or receives them. See Gumroad's Privacy Policy for details.

Children's privacy

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
