Morse Code Trainer Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-06-15
Short Version
Morse Code Trainer does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to its developer. There are no ads, no third-party analytics, and no tracking across apps or websites. Everything you do in the app stays on your device. The only network traffic the app generates is Apple's StoreKit (for the optional one-time Morse Pro purchase) and a one-time download of Apple/Google's on-device handwriting model.
What the App Stores On Your Device
- Your progress: mastery levels, XP, streaks, and which characters you've learned, stored via standard iOS UserDefaults.
- Your Pro status: whether you've unlocked Morse Pro, stored in a shared App Group so the Morse keyboard knows it's unlocked.
- App preferences: non-personal settings such as audio and timing options.
The Morse Keyboard & "Full Access"
Morse Pro includes an optional system-wide Morse keyboard. iOS requires this keyboard to request "Full Access" — but the app uses that permission for exactly one purpose: to read your Pro-unlock flag from the shared App Group so the keyboard knows it is unlocked. The keyboard does not collect, log, store, or transmit anything you type, in this app or any other. It has no network access and contains no analytics.
Handwriting Recognition
The "write the letter you hear" feature uses Google ML Kit's Digital Ink Recognition, which runs entirely on your device. The recognition model is downloaded once; after that, your handwriting strokes are processed locally and are never sent off the device. No ink or recognized text is transmitted to Google, to the developer, or to anyone else.
What the App Does NOT Do
- No data is sent to the developer or any third party (other than Apple's payment system for the Pro unlock).
- No advertising or ad-network SDKs.
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No tracking across apps or websites. The Apple privacy manifest declares
NSPrivacyTrackingasfalse.
In-App Purchase
The optional Morse Pro one-time purchase goes through Apple's standard in-app purchase system. Apple handles the payment; the app never sees your billing information.
Children's Privacy
Morse Code Trainer does not knowingly collect any data from anyone — children or adults. The App Store rates it appropriate for general audiences.
Changes To This Policy
If this policy is updated, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the next app update's release notes.
